Gaia.com Community Platform
A custom online community that grew to 700,000 members in nine months.
Designed and shipped a custom community platform for Gaiam from the ground up: information architecture, onboarding, and engagement systems, built on Ruby on Rails. The platform reached 700,000+ members in nine months.
It was eventually wiped from the Internet after funding was cut — a loss Scott later wrote about in "Building Community: The Game Changed" (June 2010).
